WELCOME TO FEBRUARY'S NEWSLETTER
A warm welcome to everyone interacting with this month's newsletter. I truly hope you all had a fantastic Christmas period, I certainly did. Our Christmas party with BackDoor friends and clients such as Stephen Fry and Leslie Phillips was a great success and much merriment was had by all. (See picture.) Now onto feeling revitalised and refreshed for positivity in 2010. 2009 has already well and truly disappeared into the annals of history, only to be trawled up at the end of this year on any number of commentaries on the first decade of the millennium.
However alongside the terrorism, the natural disasters, the political manoeuvrings of New Labour, and the Simon Cowell empire, advents in technology with Google, social networking and all things 'i' (Phone, Mac, pod, app etc) information on any spiritual shift in consciousness over the decade will at best be consigned to the small print.
Last year especially though, there was nothing 'small print' about our spiritual lessons and growth. It was a major year for shifts in higher consciousness. Two of the crucial lessons were played out on a global scale. First up greed and imbalanced materialism were bitten in the ass by universal law, as the unethical and ruthless practices of Wall St and the banking institutions suffered karmically, reminding us on an individual level to de-clutter our lives and embrace generosity of spirit in all areas of our being.
Secondly, Militarism faltered globally, countries like the United States failed miserably in tackling problems of conflict and terrorism. On an individual level such failure is a giant metaphysical reminder that emotional and spiritual intelligence is needed to help resolve conflicts with love, compassion and understanding. Those who remain conditioned for anger and hatred as 2010 continues will be challenged with ever increasing drama until these lessons are absorbed.
STEPHEN BALDWIN'S SPIRITUAL EGO
After an 8 year hiatus of not watching any reality shows, I decided to check out Celebrity Big Brother this month. I have actually quite enjoyed it, I try not to make it work orientated for myself but sometimes certain patterns with people are so glaring you can’t help but recognise what is going on.
Stephen Baldwin is a classic example of what I would term ‘spiritual ego.’ Nearly everything he does and says is typical of someone who has handed over all responsibility to god / the good lord without taking a balanced responsibility for himself. Before I clarify a little further, I’m not entering into a theological debate or looking to bring a fatwa down on myself, I am just offering an understanding of what I have witnessed in some clients from regressing them and clearing emotional blocks in their subconscious.
It is common for people who have suffered addictions to find solace in a 12 step programme, part of which entails handing over power to a higher source. The thing is we are here to recognise our connection to higher source but also to recognise that that higher source is also within us – the god within if you will. Pretty much most religions in my book are the man made politics of god, and those manmade politics include re-writing scriptures to powerfully control the follower through fear and guilt.
We are actually here to experience god and recognise our higher power within too. For Stephen Baldwin there is a rigid way of being that involves being the good ‘subject’ for the lord and to preach that message even if that means, in his own words, his child dying to defend Jesus – (‘I’ll see them in heaven’)
I could elaborate for the whole newsletter but will keep to that one point of Stephen Baldwin’s where the terrorist has the gun to his child’s head and he would still want her to defend Jesus. Do you honestly believe god gives a monkey what we call him – or his son, we are all connected and the belief is internal, an inner vibration – any external bragging to another soul who may not yet have recognised their own divinity is purely spiritual ego, a fear of being abandoned by god by not acting the right way. People in spiritual ego don’t take responsibility for themselves emotionally and can pass off any transgressions as the will of the lord.
ONE TO ONE SESSIONS
Our practice in Soho is also going from strength to strength and I am always admiring of anyone who undertakes to work on themselves and clear destructive patterns from their life. I love being able to devote part of my week to deep investigations of the subconscious and the ability to access the root causes of both this life and past lives that have been having a negative effect on people.
From addictions to weight issues, from relationship struggles to fertility problems, so many clients dealt with major emotional clearing last year and have consequently shone with their new found healing and understanding - well done, to everyone who has passed through my door. If you do want to book a session with me in our Soho office, or would like intuitive counselling as a telephone appointment please call Rosie at the office to arrange. http://www.juleswilliams.com/contact.htm

THE ROAD
To start off this month, rather than pick out specific films first, there has definitely been two very distinct themes that have been showcasing in our cinemas recently: a post apocalyptic world and a higher intelligence (albeit robotic) race. Surrogates with Bruce Willis should be out on DVD this month and focuses on a high tech phenomenon that allows people to purchase unflawed robotic versions of themselves – fit, good looking remotely controlled machines that ultimately assume their life roles – enabling people to live vicariously from the comfort and safety of their own homes.
Avatar follows a similar theme, and on a deeper level, from the interactivity of our i phones, computer screens, computer games, 3d glasses, and other technological advances some people are already heavily living a second life from the comfort of their own homes... As with all major changes they creep up on you, not many people, for example, bothered about the advent of the first few supermarkets, but bemoan the loss of bespoke shops now we have arrived at a bland franchised world. The same is happening with us, a gradual lessening of our personal, humane and spiritual characteristics. Although we are busier than ever, it is worth all of us asking - is it conducive for our health or is it more distraction and misdirection from what our true essence is?
The Road, starring Viggo Mortensen and adapted from one of my favourite authors (Cormac McCarthy) book of the same name follows on the heels of the heavily CGI laden movie 2012, and others like Zombieland and Book of Eli. The over-riding themes again are the failings of our spiritual growth that has led to a cataclysmic shaking up of the earth as we know it. On a spiritual level there are changes happening during this decade, but whether they take the apocalyptic movie versions or are a more subtle shift in our consciousness is yet to be seen. With The Road there has been an unexplained environmental catastrophe and most of the survivors that the father and son encounter in their survival trek across America are lawless, immoral and spiritually retarded. The film is a powerful meditation on the destruction that could befall mankind and the planet, and also a heart rending study of
parenthood. It may not be happy viewing but it is a definite for asking questions of yourself about the bigger picture of life and your purpose.
